VR-SIM Carers
Dementia Caregivers Skill Training through Virtual Reality Simulation (VR-SIM Carers)
Caregivers Day Celebration, Ontario Shores
April 4th, 2024
On April 4th, Ontario Shores celebrated caregivers with a special event despite the challenging weather forecast. Close to 80 participants gathered to honour and appreciate the significant contributions of our caregivers in building caring communities.

The celebration featured a Resource Fair where various community partners collaborated, including notable organizations like Abilities Centre, Alzheimer Society Durham Region, and Canadian Mental Health Association (Durham), among others. Prominently, the VR-SIM Carers team was one of the exhibitors. We engaged with caregivers, discussing how Virtual Reality can be utilized as a skills-building tool for dementia caregivers. Additionally, our team was highlighted in the documentary ‘The Caregivers’, showcasing our innovative approach to caregiver support
