Join Dr. Mary Chiu to explore barriers and facilitators as aging adults engage in digital technology, and particularly, Virtual Reality interactions. Mary will share learnings from “VR-SIM Carers (Virtual Reality Simulation)” - a multi-year Research & Development initiative to design, develop and test an innovative skills-building and training platform for dementia caregivers to practice skills that are instrumental in the caregiver role e.g. communication, navigating relational issues, managing expressive behaviours, asking the right questions to care professionals - while safely immersed in a VR environment.
